Spent Case in Rifle Bore Removed Poorly

Firearm: Just Right Carbine .40 (non-take down)

I have always run handloaded ammo through this Rifle but had a failure at the range this last weekend. Note in the pics below the piece that was stuck and removed.

I used a small, flat-head screw driver to pry out the spent case, but applied too much pressure it's seems and damaged some of the bore where the bullet is seated. I put in a cartridge and it doesn't seem to catch. I ran a bore snake through it though and it has enough burr to pull threads off it.

My question:

1. Is this a big deal - or equivalent to some harmless pitting.
2. Will it effect cycling/ejection or accuracy?
2. If it needs to get repaired, what am I looking at for repair (around Edmonton)
3. Any other insight

I recently got possession of a Remington pump .22LR that had been my stepdad's mom's rifle when she was young, it was in beautiful shape other than some similar chamber damage that caused every shell to stick in the chamber, I took it to R&T Firearms in Warburg and he bored out the chamber, inserted a liner, and machined it to fit, you can't even tell it was worked on and cost just under $100. I was totally happy with it, the only downside was he had it for about three months, that's why it was so cheap.
If the burrs in your chamber can't be blended in most places will probably tell you to replace the whole barrel and could get pricy, you may want to talk to a few places before committing, it could be possible to just polish it out.
