Hey everyone.

I have been reloading for my 308 for a while now and have found a great combination with IMR 4895

Wondering if anyone has any experience with that powder for the 30-06.

Or if not what powders have you found works well for a 180 grain bullet.

Thanks

I've had Good luck with H or IMR 4350.

I think that a slower burning powder would be a better choice. Something like H4350 would work well. H-4831sc would be another. My two choices.

Have a look through several manuals, if a certain powder isn't listed in the majority of them, it's usually because it isn't a good choice for that cartridge/bullet weight.

4895 works good in 30-06 just look through your manuals and you should find a load that works.

30-06 with 180 grain pill and a good shot of reloader 22. Works so well in mine I have no reason to try anything else.

It should work good in 30-06 that's what cartridge it was developed for. I have used IMR 4895 with good success in a wide range of calibers.

IMR 4895
Originally a military powder featured in the 30-06, IMR 4895 is extremely versatile. From 17 Remington to the 243 Winchester to the 375 H&H Magnum, accuracy and performance are excellent. In addition, it is a long time favorite of Match shooters.
