We were up fishing Lesser Slave Lake at the end of June. Had great success. There were three of us and we each must have caught and released 30 Walleye each. The same can be said for the Pike we caught. We did keep enough for a couple of fish fries. The weather co-operated for us. We had a small thunder shower chase us around but managed to miss it. Norm's Walleye Camp was great as usual. If you can rent their cabin do so. There's nothing as relaxing as an evening after fishing all day than sitting out on the deck watching the locals fish the river, the boats coming and going and the Terns, Ospreys and Eagles go after fish. We had most of our success trolling Williams Wabblers (blue, silver and red colored). Lots of people jigging for Walleye but we have always had more success trolling for them.

As for Coal Lake by Wetaskiwin ... The weeds are probably up but what is the algae situation right now. I can live with weeds but algae blooms kind of ruin visibility and aren't that great for the fish either. Any info would be appreciated.
