You do need a jetboat too get to these spots. Probably the first time this year these fish have seen a lure.

The Oldman River located where? Closer to Calgary or is near Lethbridge?

It's getting better. Anyone that's caught a big river pike knows how they fight. This 40 1/2" pike was crazy. Awesome fish. Tough to beat fishing on a river when the fish are there and biting! The sound of the water, the constant movement... Goes hand in hand with a beverage on a nice sunny day.

That's an interesting measuring box you have there.

I use the same style measuring box only made from a length of plastic eavestrough with one end open. I wet it first before measuring and if the fish are not in the slot I simply lift it onto the gunwale and slowly tilt until the fish slides back into the water.
