Looking to do a 2 evening float on the Pembina. Between Entwistle and Sangudo looks decent. Anyone be able to tell me where a good place to put the kayaks in at? We don't want to go too hard and do a little fishing too?

Thank you. How long would it take to hit Sangudo....approximately?

i would stay between evansburg and entwhistle. After the campground there are no access points in case of a emergency; all private land . From the campground to sangudo is a very long stretch of water and very risky.

Never done it before. I would guesstimate the distance and look at a flow chart of the current water conditions and come up with my answer. I'll try to find the water flow chart for the pembina and link it for you.

Looks as though its around 71kms distance. Flows can be found here:

I usually try and stick around the 30-35kms per day paddling. makes for a nice leisurely depart in AM and you are not rushed on the river. Leaving time for fishing of course!!!
Should get Mark Lunds guide to AB rivers book. Im sure that section of river is in it and it can give you some better information as far as rapids and stuff to avoid on the stretch of river you are planning on doing.
PS: best camping you can do is along a river bank!!! peaceful and beautiful. Hope the trip goes good for you

Excellent gentlemen, thank you. I've done the Little Smoky a few times from the first bridge on the Bigstone to the hamlet of Little Smoky and that was fine. Want to try something new. This helps a lot.

Usually in late August North of Onoway you can paddle upstream just as easy. With the rain we have had lately???? I just came over it on 16 but could not see down.

Hey Moe, just wondering if you ever did the Pembina to Sangudo trip? I am looking for some info on it as I was interested in trying to go from the park to Rangeton Park. Looking for advice. Thanks!
