I've had a few run ins with the notorious Pike on my Fly rod before. Both times those crafty gators left me heart broken as they escaped before i could land them.

But not this time.

It took a couple hours to find the Pike but once I did my Fly rod was bent until the wind picked up and forced me to leave! And I even managed to catch my second Walleye from Pine Lake just before I left!

Great work man!

Soon enough you're going to have to teach me this fly business.

Also, baitcasters.

I'm such a noob. :-)

Great videos on your channel! I noticed that you have one of those yellow handheld fish finders in your canoe. How is it working for you, and would you recommend one for someone who wanted to start using one, but money is tight?

I think it's called a 'Lucky' Fish finder and it was pretty inexpensive. But all it really does is tell the depth. And even that is iffy sometimes lol. You get what you pay for.

Thanks for watching my videos though!

Mucho Gracias Senor! That would be awesome! There's nothing better then getting people on some fish.

Great video Timidhc....well done!

Taking a pike on the fly is so amazing.

We love to do that in shallows in Spring.

This year we started to use:

http://www.cabelas.ca/product/25183/aquateko-knot-2-kinky-wire

It is great leader material and stands up well to pike teeth.

Thanks iYearn! I should have another new video tomorrow for you!

That's what I use for all my leaders now!

I hated how bulky steel leaders were and then after a pike or two they'd have an unfixable kink in them.

But so far this Knot2Kinky stuff has worked perfectly.

I just tie a 4 turn improved clinch and it hasn't slipped or budged yet, it doesn't kink and it's a lot thinner diameter so it's less likely to spook timid fish away!
