I missed this chance, but my buddy from the interior caught this guy on a Lenny, shore casting last night. As you can tell by the look on his face, he is pretty stoked. This year our year long derby is for the biggest fish overall, and my buddy is off to a pretty big head start!!

I say 33" @ 14.5 lbs.....that's a thick fish.

Id say Fantastic fish thats Definitely a Trophy of a lifetime . Id take lots of pics and get a replica mount done . Id suggest that Fish is in the low to Mid 30's Maybe pushing the 13 .5 pound mark , but none the less its a fantastic fish congrats to your buddy .

Very nice fish. I looks like a big spawning male. I like the looks of the big fish when the kype starts to grow. Did you find the meat kinda mushy? I find once the hormones are in em like that in a big way the meat gets wet and mushy. I usually tell by how "black" the belly is. I hope not a lot of natural spawners are getting killed there...especially if they are growing to that size. If a stocked lake...then it is probably nearing the end of it's shelf like.
