Did you have any luck? I haven't fished Sylvan at all this year.

Sylvan is my favourite whitefish lake in Alberta , they aren't the biggest but are plentiful.

Can't wait for ice fishing season !

Light line , small gold or silver spoons , early in the morning is best

Wondering what depth and bottom type are you getting the whites now and in the fall?

Thanks

Spent Saturday morning at Sylvan. Weather was not as good as I had hoped. Stayed in the rough stuff for the first couple of hours with nothing, nada. First time in a long time for me to see it this slow at Sylvan... Then headed West to get out of the wind. Could see some rises in the calmer water. Yay! Nothing. Until after 15 minutes or so I switched to a silver chironmid and it was every cast. Ended up landing around 20 or so with some long distance releases too. Got off the water by 2 p.m.
From others on the water, they had a much slower day. I’m thinking with better weather returning that they should be even more stacked up in the shallows coming up. I caught mine in 6 FOW.
