I'm looking at upgrading my boat and the one I am looking at is on sale and has a Mercury 200 Verado engine. I have absolutely no experience with or knowledge of the Verado series other than what I have read online. I don't know anybody with one either. Do any of you have any experience with or input on these engines?

I have a 2010 model (200 hp) with about 100 hours on it. No problems at all, absolutely bullet proof. I have never been concerned with weather or not it will start in the middle of the lake. I know 100 hours isn't a lot, but I would highly recommend the Verado series motors!

I have a verado 150. Great engine, no issues, 140 hrs on it. Do take the time to allow the engine to start the computer completely before starting the engine. It won't run right without doing this properly. Other than that, great running, quiet fuel efficient engine!

I've had a couple of them now and I absolutely love them. Both of mine were the L6 six cyclinder version. I can't see myself ever having anything different on my boat. TONS of power, especially in the mid range and top end, whisper quiet, really nice power steering, it'll troll all day if you want it to, and so far (knock on wood), bulletproof.

If there's a downside it's that they can be a bit thirsty at wide open, but if you back off a few mphs and cruise at mid throttle they're actually pretty decent on fuel.
