Found this in Petite Lake. Must be for the flamboyant rainbow trout in there.

You would be surprised how many lures I pulled out of the shallows on that lake. Pickerel rigs through to rattlin raps.

Hopefully it keeps someone from stepping on a hook.

It's mine, but it's not a lure. Somedays I get fed up and fling stuff like that out there in the hope of hitting a rising trout and knocking him out.

I was at Blood Indian this weekend and saw someone using pickerel rigs with 4 inch twister tails on the hooks :scared:

That looks like an old Heddon River Runt. My dad had some in his tackle box when I was a kid. Worked pretty well for pike and walleye. Never tried it on trout, or all tarted up with grubs though.

Laugh all you want but you would be surprised what weird lures like that can do....I sure was.
I took a three of my friends out down the river for a nice afternoon ride in the middle of August a few years ago. One of my friends was an avid fisherman like myself but the other two were not avid fisherman or had fished the river much.
We stopped at one of the campgrounds along the river. Being the gentlemen that my other friend and I were we knew where the best chance at catching some fish at this particular spot was ( small rock outcrop/point underwater that was not visible unless you already knew which created a great deep-water eddy off the main channel) and showed them were to fish and gave them that "spot". Main species target were Pike and walleye (there are decent fish to be had in this river)
I was about to rig up maybe a pickerel rig with some minnows as it is easy to fish and they work quite well for beginners but the two friends wanted to try out there own lures that they brought. My one friend decided on a Rapala crankbait (not a bad choice really) but his Fiance decided she wanted to use a spoon. A medium sized, very light in weight no name brand spoon of a kind of pinkish blue color I think....and she topped it off with the EXACT SAME configuration of plastic worms on all three of the prongs on the hook as the OP has posted!
I giggled a little bit and told her it probably wasn't the best choice but she laughed and said whatever I want to try it....well.....she hauled up two...TWO 8 pound walleye (we weighed them) in less than a half hour of casting. My other friend caught a small jack and then a 7 pound walleye on his crank bait. Me and my other friend who do this regularly (albeit in a not good spot to fish) caught nothing...nada...lol. I couldn't believe it. We laughed hard and had an extra beer. She to this day catches fish when the rest of us are not on weird configurations that I would not normally try. Makes you wonder sometimes...but its great fun to watch and I have no problem suckin up that old pride hahaha.

This one says Lucky Strike on the lip. Not sure the model.

Ended up pulling out three pickerel rigs, two panther martins, a rattlin rap, and this beaut. I guess waders and polarized glasses help to see them. None of these were further than 8 feet from shore or more than 3 feet deep.

Glad I could brighten some days with the photo. It made me laugh when I pulled it out!

What a beauty of a lure. Guy must've figured, "i'm gonna thrown seven different kinds of smoke at em". Still nothing, lake must be dead.
