So who's going?? I know I am. Will be leaving at about 6:00 am. Probably going to launch from the resort side and fish along with my friend who has a cabin down there. Water level is way up as they have been filling it for the last three weeks. The spillway is also running, so that's where we'll start but I'm guessing that the pike will be plentiful there. Will try to find the walleye and will post on my findings.

Anyone else going down?

AHHHHH....finally out on the open water. Boat all tuned up and runs great, thanks to Colin at Prairie Winds boat repair.

Good day of fishing too. We arrived at 8:00 and it was 4 degrees...and windy. So windy that we could anchor anywhere...and cold! But we tried a couple of places and fished in the creek a little, trolled around some other places with shelter and not a lot of luck. Around 10 the wind died down so we started to try the spot again where we wanted to anchor, if you know travers, you know where that is. Fishing was steady until it hailed, snowed and rained heavily and there was a lot of lightning so we packed it in, about 3:30. Probablly caught 40-50 eyes, few pike, 4 keepers the biggest one 55 cm. For the record, I didn't get any keepers but I caught 6 that were 47-49 cms, DOH! Lots of nice sized fish, not too many little ones. Using jig heads and minnows, all colors worked. I caught the pike in this picture on a wolly bugger, which was hot and heavy for about and hour, tipped with minnow of course.

A couple males we caught were milking when we got them in the boat (net) which was weird, never seen that and the first time it made one hell of a mess.

Some pics:

First one in the boat, was a keeper

30 or so minutes later, the biggest of the day (2 lbs 14 oz)

And to prove I acutally caught a fish, though no keepers LOL

Oh wait, I did get the biggest one of the day, but I didn't even touch that slimy pike.
