He grew a bit from last year, gotta see him on the hoof to make my decision then, been told by others I need to have my head examined...his potential so far will be a big eight but I have seen 160 plus eight pointers so my let him walk...might...:)

Good camera location.
So do cow moose chase off the calves or do the calves choose to run away after seeing what the bull does?

Man that buck looks old, roman nose, sway back, I wonder if he's on his way down?

Depends on what time of year. Cows run off last years calves in the spring before they drop a new one. Bulls run both cows and calves in the fall, the calf may leave temporarily or permanently, or just not let the bull mount.

Awesome pics 58, how many years till you draw that tag?

Also...big 8's usually stay as 8s. Choot em!!

The big eight like I mentioned grew a few more inches, this is the third year of pics of him, I let him walk last year thinking maybe he will get that extra point, made a mistake and mis judged a 10 pointer and took him instead, thick woods, looked like a 150 class buck...I should have a moose tag next year...or someone of the two other people I hunt with...time will tell.

I'm going to venture to say that big 8 is, or was in his prime. It would be interesting to see his teeth this fall to age him, I'm thinking he's reaching his "senior" years. I bet he starts putting on a little mass but losing tine and main frame lengths. He's definitely got a swayback and roman nose.

Well we will let ya know if he makes his appearance....maybe.:)

If anything I got the cameras all located in and around his stomping grounds, I know where he goes now and travels once rifle season starts, he runs the low grounds in thick brush, takes the funnels avoiding the open areas.
A few years ago I passed him up,as he walked by my stand located in thick brush, two other smaller bucks were with him, I texted my son who was about 500 yards away in a ground blind over looking a field and swamp to his left, he text me if this fella shows he will take him but the only two to make the appearance was the little fellas, this guy stayed in the thick crap and made his way to another area undetected other than what my game cameras picked up.

Time will tell.

This was him last year, looks like he lost a point on the left antler...maybe I shouldn't have passed him up:snapoutofit:

Front shot from last year. The year stamp was wrong on the camera...finger problems.
