At first I thought I was clicking on a post by Alberta's most honest poacher, nice jerky.

Thinking of buying a dehydrator real soon. apples, pears, apricots AND jerky made easy plus you can make complete meals and reconstitute them when in the bush, light weight and easy to pack.

and why not in the oven? Thanks!

Sure I'm sure the oven will work. With the 2 dehydrators I have 6 trays for each. I can do more with 2 dehydrators.

Do lots of jerky but never did ground. Only do whole muscle.

What do you find is better? Assuming you have done whole muscle before.

And dehydrator is well well worth it! Can pick up one at CT for $44. I think there is a sale on now or was last flyer, but they come up on sale frequently.

I like both but quite often I will grind one or two deer for jerky or ground meat meals. Ground meat is very versatile.
