Do you have or use a range bag and if so what's in it..

I am looking at put that just right Range Bag together. At times I see some with enough stuff to open a gunsmith shop.
In my case I lately I just grab a few targets, some tape , a few boxes of ammo and my ear muffs.
And of course the rifle or pistol of the day and some speed loaders and magazines.
So what do you take?

Beyond the obvious, a small 10X map reader to inspect brass for pressure signs. A towel to cushion brass ejects.

Obviously targets (a few different types), towel for catching brass, shooting bags/rests, cushion for the cold days :), staple gun and staples and torque driver screwdriver set. This goes in my tote.

In my bag I have range passes for the whole family, safety glasses, ear protection and lots of ammo. Sometimes I bring my spotting scope and tripod if I plan on using something besides the rimfire range.

There has been a few time out at whitecourt fish and game where I forgot my repellent , cut my visit short I'll tell ya that hahahaha

Ahhh... so that’s why the targets were disappearing ...don’t spray it near the target boards:)

Usually a good idea to keep your “ears” where you can put them on before getting out of your vehicle if the Range is active.

I don't bring the kitchen sink, but I do bring some soap and an insulated water container filled with warm water.
Whenever I am done shooting I always wash my hands.

The #1 thing that is in my range bag that people end up borrowing the most?

A rubber mallet.

It's almost always for the same thing -- stuck bolts & charging levels.

I use an oversized toolbox for my 'range kit' and it contains:

Spare hearing protection & glasses for guests.

Hand tools, ratcheting screwdriver
Oddball collection of bits for screwdriver

One item going in my box at this time of year is seat pad ...those chairs are getting cold.

I used to over pack. But it took me years to figure out I could leave some stuff in the truck and go back and grab it if I needed it. Used to haul out all sorts of junk out to the table and use only half of the stuff ... lol.

Pretty much the shooting bags, ammo, wipes, a small clean kit, muffs, spotting scope, a couple towels, targets, a marker, stapler, bug spray, water bottle, a few tools (small) and tape.

I only use the sled when I'm doing the initial site in and fine tuning a new load. Usually stays in the truck after I kinda know the gun is dialled in. No point in doing all of the shooting off a sled (and getting great results) if you can't learn to use your tripod like you might be able to on a hunt. Seems to be quite a bit different (group size) for me at least.

If I need other stuff - it's only a short walk to the truck - More tools, clothing, and the bigger cleaning kit, extra targets, pens, markers, wipes, plastic bags, etc...

Good advise about washing your hands, a container of the sanitary wipes works for this too.

My range bag is an oversized Makita tool bag with the range passes, glasses and earplugs of various sizes and styles, sharpie, masking tape, Allen keys, small screwdriver, gun oil , stapler and staples, recoil pad, bags for empty brass and a bore light. It’s heavy but the range has nice carts we get to use to lug it all around.

Good advise about washing your hands, a container of the sanitary wipes works for this too.

I use "Gloves in a Bottle" it's like a hand lotion that keeps out solvents etc from entering your pores. I got it from the paint section of the lumber yard in Olds. Can't think of the name now but it's not UFA, Co-op or Home Hardware but, it's located on the east side of the Walmart Mall. Somehow the name Castle or something like that comes to mind.

I use it when cleaning brass, guns, reloading lead bullets etc.
