I spent 2 1/2 days (thurs-sat) wandering around the southern end of WMU 404 looking for mulleys. I saw plenty of tracks around bear pond, iron lakes and along ridges west and north of Indian graves. I only saw a few white-tails and kept running into a moose.
I am not skilled enough to tell the difference between white-tail and mule deer tracks in the snow. I guess I was tracking the wrong deer.
Has anyone seen any Mule bucks around there this season?
Next trip I will try elsewhere, I saw plenty of sign elsewhere during my pre-season scouting, but again am not sure which species of deer it originated from.
