Got my hands on one this morning. The long wait is over. This is my first Antelope and I couldn’t be happier. The stalk went as well as it could have. Wind was mild and in our faces the whole time. With the sun at our backs we closed to under 400yards with some crawling on hands and knees and got set up prone on the bipod. Ranged at 365 yards. Dialled the turret and touched off a 115gr Berger from my .257 Wby. He was down almost instantly. Had a lifelong friend along for it as well. Thank you for the assistance BTW. We caught it all on video as well.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171016/697c9ef0d51e40af7de69fb623290fb9.jpeghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171016/fb49307f5897a138456b3c05d08b0b0e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171016/3c976270ec9c2f8df02a731450c5cd92.jpg
This is the one we were hoping to find this morning but he was MIA.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171016/84e2e8386e9df990a82b6c907de425a8.jpg

Thank you for the congrats all. 82”??? I’ll be the first to admit that when it comes to judging I’m not at the point I can break them right down. We knew right away he was a jumbo but I didn’t think he was a book goat. Good grief. That’s ok though. I now have a couple solid bases of reference/comparison for anything Antelope score related in the future.

He may have been harvested yesterday. We’re pretty certain that he ended up further north than where we put him to bed on Sunday evening. There were three other groups of hunters to the north, two to the west and eight shots fired(including mine) in the general area. We probably could have got glass on that bunch of antelope to see if he was there but if those guys were fortunate enough to be where he was then so be it. I’d feel terrible messing up someone else’s play. If you’re interested at all, I’ve got piles of pictures and video of him from the three days before season opened. I’m glad we got it done when we did. Very windy here this morning and supposed to get worse as the day goes on. I’m homeward bound with an important side stop at the taxidermist.:)

Congrats Lou! Great goat! I didn't see anything close to those specimens yesterday! Heading back down in a couple days and I'm not leaving until I'm tagged out!

Thanks again fellows. We stayed in Elkwater at the lodge. I wasn’t quick enough on the draw to get one of the cabins but it was very nice. Not cheap for the room I had to take but very nice. It contributed nicely to a very gentlemanly hunt that’s for sure. I can’t imagine what the wind was like later in the day. It was humping on her when I headed north on Tuesday morning already.

What are the accommodations like in Foremost? I’ve never really checked it out. Given a few of the mule deer bucks I saw down there, another trip may be in order sooner than later for some stick and string action.

Ya , he's a tad smaller, closer to 76-78 maybe, could use more mass on the bottom

I took my Holiday trailer down Lou.Ya i saw some decent Muley Bucks as well. I saw an exceptional Whitetail as well.
You have some great pics.
I chose foremost because of being able to get fuel. I only touched maybe 10% of our zone.. wish i knew it better, but like you i think a stick and string are in order as well.

I guess if you call a 140-150 class Mulie big. Back in the 70's that used to be the zone with some big deer.

Thanks man. I wasn’t hunting it then, only born towards the end of that decade. I won’t dispute there are piles of scrubs but I saw some good ones. Two in particular that are the largest I’ve seen in the last 10 years.

LR1000, you’re brother’s goat is very nice. I see he is also a fan of those buttes for the grip and grins.

Tell your brother congratulations on the big buck. This was a well deserved trophy. Those boys worked hard, stuck out the high winds, made a lot of miles ( not just in their trucks)and passed up a lot of bucks. I tagged out on the first morning with a pretty buck that was much smaller as I didn't see any monsters while scouting and there was alot of pressure.
It'll be tough to beat that one in the future.

I haven’t posted it anywhere. Don’t know how to be quite honest as I’ve never tried.
