anyone know of stores selling Canada goose silhouette decoys?
I've tried both cabelas and wholesale with no luck. Not looking to purchase online as the shipping costs are a joke.

I think that one is in Ontario. I think this is the one your thinking of and yes he's really good to deal with. We buy ammo through him also. You have to plan ahead because he doesn't always have everything in stock.

We used to make them. There are patterns on line and many suitable materials available.

Once you paint them, with particular care with the heads, they look pretty good. Set them up so that as the birds circle, they all don't disappear and then reappear.in unison.

Funny you say that I was contemplating using those election signs and making a few from those.

I made a bunch last night for cheap. Pretty effective pattern my dad and his hunting partners killed the majority of their geese over simple silhouettes like this.

-1/4" 4'x8' hardboard get about 10 magnum sized decoys out of sheet
-matte black tremclad paint
-matte white spray paint
-attach a spike to them and put them in the ground
-Works out to about 1-2$ decoy for me

This video here may be of some help. I show you how to make windsocks but to make the coroplast piece, you would just draw the full shape of the goose (sillohette) instead of just the spine and head.

We have bought several dozen decoys from Kurt at Flight Control and they work great. Good deal, easy to pack out to the field and great guy to deal with.
