Heading down to Texas again for Christmas to spend time with the in-laws and was getting familiar with the fishing regs. You can keep most fish with liberal limits ( from 2 fish per day to 10). That is not the issue but what always intrigues me is that they can keep one fish over the slot size per day. Why can't we just follow suit? I will use the walleye as an example, lets say we use any of the Walleye Class tags ( A, B or C) and get to keep one bigger than the 50cm. Would the government really lose money over it?

Big fish are the best size for non regulated net fishers. Didn't you know that?

This is why so many lakes around St. Paul have not been opened for Walleye, the age structure does not show any big fish, even after 20 years of closures. How is that even possible?

There was an MLA who did an open house a while back in the St. Paul area, and he invited the Bios to come and explain themselves. Apparently some of those lake will now get tags, despite the age class for the big fish missing.

I bet the MLA sold a lot of Wildrose Party Memberships that night!
