I bought the T3 in 7 mag. laminated stainless and I love this gun. It's accurate, and very reasonably priced. Their optilok bases and rings are very pricey, but you can go to other manufacturers. I would highly recommend this gun.

I have the t3 in a 243 and love it, bought it for yotes and now i think i want to go with a t3 for my big game rifle. On the other hand i have a buddy that has alittle longer arms and the t3 is to short for him.

Tikka's are real nice rifles. However, so are Remingtons, but you can't really compare the T3 to an SPS. I have an SPS in a 204, and for the price, it's an excellent gun. With handloads, I can get it to shoot under an inch. However, I know what I bought, it's a cheap gun, that IMHO feels good, looks ok, and shoots coyotes just as dead as anyone else's 204, but it ain't no T3! Hope this helps and let us know what you decide.

I love my T3 in 270 WSM. Off a bench rest, I can shoot inside a dime at 100 yards. Would recommend Tikka to anyone looking for a great rifle for a good price.

Had a look at the Left Hand Tikka's at P&D the other day.
Nice enough rifles, but
Extra magazines for the things are worth $110.00, and I really wonder how they hold up if dropped on a running board at say -20.
That composite or polymer bushing that helps make the action so smooth, I have quams about it's longevity, and it's resistance to grit, or solvents.
I was not enthused with the itty bitty teeny weeny ejection port. Not my idea of user friendly if you have to single load, or flip a round or empty out with your hand.
And I certainly did'nt like the estetics of the blind side of the receiver, it looks like they decided to contour the action as an after thought.
Now, before all you Tikkamaniacs, diress me for my opinion, it's just that, my opinion.
I know they have a fine reputation as a shooter, but so do many other factory rifles out there, such as Savage.
And I view the Savage as no more or no less appealing than a Tikka.
But that being said that's why we have umteen choices of rifle manufacturers, in a bevy of styles and options.
What one guy likes may not suit the next guy, for what ever reason.
Have fun choosing.

I love my T3 in 270 WSM. Off a bench rest, I can shoot inside a dime at 100 yards.

Seriously? Regularly? If you can, with a heavy recoiling gun like that, you are probably one of the world's best shots. I really think Dimes come in different sizes for guys.

I have to agree with the 2 posts before me. I hate the looks of the T-3. IMHO it feels cheap. To much plastic there for my liking but many people just love em. There not for Me,. I'll keep my Sako. There must be a pile of ****ty shots here in central Alberta because when I go to the range I have never seen a grouping that would be covered by a dime at 100 yards. Pretty impresive if it really happens.

Thank you Slipbobber! Some of us need a reality check with regards to rifle accuracy. I've spent a lot of time at the range with Predator style, light recoil, centrefire rifles(17's, 204's, 223's, 22-250's, and 243's) ... I am always impressed when I can keep 5 shots under an inch. But then again, maybe it's just me, and everyone else can easily stack 5 shots into a quarter!

I have trouble shooting a dime sized-one shot group, :)
Im 50/50 on this, they dont really blow my hair back, otherwise id have one.
IMO, i think there are better guns for the same money, like a top-end rem700, but conversely, there are cheaper units that are equal, savage being one.
have fun and enjoy the choice!!

I guess my statement wasn't clear. The dime covers all three on my best groups (done it a couple times). And when shooting off a bench rest. No way would I be able to do it otherwise, but the rifle could.
Seriously? Regularly? If you can, with a heavy recoiling gun like that, you are probably one of the world's best shots. I really think Dimes come in different sizes for guys.

Seriously? I guess we have different about what constitutes heavy recoil, cause I don't notice it to be "heavy".

It all depends on what the poster meant. If he meant that he could shoot some groups that were smaller than a dimes diameter(.705" for the dime that I measured),that really isn't hard to believe. Then again if he meant that he always shot groups that he could cover with a dime, that changes things entirely. That would amount to consistant groups of .428" or less, certainly possible, but not at all common for a lightweight factory rifle chambered in 270wsm.

Diddo that statement.....i probably concede that the single best 'Alberta' coyote caliber would be the 22-250 and same for the gun...a T3 lite can do it at the range as well as being light enough to make a good walking/calling gun. That combo has tempted me many times. 0-350 yrds i don't think you'll notice a diff in the dropping power between the 204 and the 250 but after that i think you'll see a nod towards the 250...imo. So it would do the truck guys/prairie guys and the callers just as well.

ya i got the t3 varmint so it has the heavier barrel so its a little heavier but i was shooting today from 300 to 500 and the drop at 300 is only 1.5", 15" at 400 and 30" at 500

Jamie, Are you comming over to help skin those yotes. I have ten of them to do now. I think with your new gun and the two of us we should be able to wipe out the population. At least we should go for a new daily record. I think we need 9 or ten to do that. :D :D :D I'm getting excited now.:lol :lol :lol :lol

lol ya my dad said tomorrow and ya i can actually almost hit em so i deffinetly think a new record should be easy. i should be good out to like 350 as long as there not running ill just have to go get a new call as i lost mine. Where are your baits and snares set up this year 334 or by the bird area???? ill call you later to set up to skin the yotes and kill some more.

Me and my dad regularly shoot these size groupings a 100 yrds with a 300wsm in lite

we have also noticed that it kicks an extreme bit less then
my 308. blr
has anyone else noticed the t3 lites not kickin as much as they should considering there weight and calibre

I also have t3 in ss laminate in 300wsm and the recoil is a lot lighter than my 30-06 model 70. But I also put a limbsaver recoil pad on it. Wow does it make a difference.

With my Tikka T3 in .270WIN off the bench I typically get 1/2" to no more then 3/4" 3 shot groups at 100yards. And this is with factory ammo.

I bought a T3 Lite .308 Win and put a limbsaver pad on it. It kicks harder than my Rem 700 7mm Rem Mag. I bought a .308 Win as it is known to be a light recoiling .30 cal but I am very dissappointed!
