Newell lake ice report

Anyone been out to Newell or know if what the ice is looking like there?

Dec. 17 ice in the sw corner was 9-10”. No one was driving on.

ice where I was was a good foot, lots of scary noises and a very impressive gas bubbles freight train blasting down the main lake at one point, that would sure mess with someones head if they were fishing in the dark :) been there done that :sign0176: ice was good clear ice but I would no way attempt to drive on yet as there will still be a lot of thinner areas on that lake, some all winter long. Fishing was slow only landed 8 or 9 fish and nothing over 20 pounds, maybe a pound or two over 20 but thats all :(
