Check your ice fishing shacks

Conservation officer Rich Hildebrand said with weather that's been warmer than usual this year, structures on the ice can heat up and melt the ice below.

There was a photo posted to one of the FB fishing groups of a shack in the ice at Lac St. Anne I think it was.

looks like they attached floats to find in the spring. It will be a dangerous place to drive over during the winter also. Ice does not look at all safe. Strange.

Ol'buffalo pound usually claims a life too....people are crazy, wonder what the fines are for putting crap on the ice that can't be recovered or puts users in a dangerous situation?

Sask rules you must have your name and contact information posted on the outside of your shack, somebody will get a visit and a bill from F&G.

Its not cheap

Before I saw that they used to bags to recover the shacks I thought they might be turd bags like in the patch....would’ve been a really stinky recovery scenario
