Found this on the net . Looks good but I wonder if it would burn or melt the handle . Its a paint roller 5 gallon mesh screen .

There was a guy on here who built a rack to cook his stuff on, looked good. May have to use the search function to find that thread.

Thanks Sooner. I tried that. I found the post. Unfortunately all the pictures are gone.

Hey guys,

Check out this YouTube video at the 12:08 mark...

What I like about this hack is that it uses the original style grill that your Buddy Heater came with and isn't as toxic as using the zinc plated style grills that are used for cleaning excess paint off of paint rollers.

This mod appears to be really stable as well.

Mr. Heater part number for Big Buddy Heater is:

78426 GUARD WIRE FACE,MH18B

Just used a small grill and some skewers from the camping dept in Canadian Tire, I did burn the handle so you will need a small tin or some kind of shield to deflect the heat. Cooks pretty fast and makes a great pot of perked coffee.:)

Does the grease cause a problem with a grate or grill like that?

I use this mod on my big buddy heater. Works great. Just need to make sure that what ever you cook os mostly over the top (closest to the metal on the heater) for optimal heat. Also best to make sure you have tin foil with you for cooking on.

I don’t actually remember for sure as I had it sitting I the corner for years. I wanna say it’s just a old sandwich cooker from crappy tire. I just took one of the handles and turned it into supports and good to go. Works awesome. Cooks even better when you use the fan. [emoji4]

i use one of the racks out of my smoker and use hose clamps to fasten it to the big buddy handle dont put it to tight and it just flips back out of the way.

I just turn the front grate of the heater upside down and pop it back in the top holes. Works good for a few smokies or a tin of soup.

I wrapped my handle with a thin welders cloth. mine is similar to yours. I just cut up a old shopping cart that was left on my front lawn one day, Got the wheels off it also and put them on a old desk that I now use as a moveable workbench in the garage. Rolls under the regular work bench for storage and out again for use.

I wrap toasted sandwiches and sausage in foil and warm them up when needed. A ring of sausage will be hot in about 15 - 30 mins. Sandwich will be hot in about 10 mins. Toasted bacon and egg. Yum Yum on a cold day.

Cook while you fish and heat, multi tasking at it's best !
