ATV advice

I have been offered a 2007 Can Am Outlander 800 Special Edition with GPS, new rubber, box, windshield and GPS in immaculate condition. Guy wants $6000.

Wondering if anyone might have any intel on the ATV quality and thoughts about the price?

Awesome quad, bulletproof machine for quite a few years, and 07 was one of those years. His price is $1500 to $2000 too high though

That is a lot of money for a 11 year old quad. Check out the new prices on some brands of quads around and you will see brand new 500cc quads not much more than that for sale.

I totally agree.......11 years old that is more than a premium price..

A buddy of mine just picked up a 2016 Arctic cat for 4000 and it had 1800 km's ........Go Ahead guys flame me .........

If it's a max and has about 1500km that's a good deal. If it's got 4000 km I'd pass unless it was about $4-4500. The 07 models were still made in canada.

Need the hrs and odometer numbers but sounds expensive.

Is he including winch, racks, bags etc? That'll close the gap too.

I bought a brand new Polaris 570 in 2016 for $7200. That was with a $1200 dollar factory rebate and included the winch. I had a hard time finding a used quad with under 1000km for much less than that price. I think if you watch for sales in the fall and winter you can do fairly well with a new quad that has warranty. Also unless you know the person selling it, its hard to say how they treated it while they owned it.

X2 on the advice. After looking for several months, i ended up with a previous years demo (also a 570 sportsman). Just because its in great shape doesnt negate the fact that it is over a decade old. I found lots of cases of that, nice rigs but way overpriced for the age so went with a good deal from a dealer.

Hard to justify buying used for close to the same price as something new. Especially after 3-4 model years go by. Spend the little bit extra $$ and get something new.

My friend has a 2012 800 Outlander, Martin Eq rad relocate. AM tires, but high high km's. He is telling me Martin says it's probably worth 5G due to the km's.

6G for an 07 seems high unless it had minimal km's but knowing the owner, how he rode it and where he rode it, maintenance etc is worth something.

The price is on the high end.
I just bought an Alterra off the showroom floor for $6800, By the time I outfitted it with winch, tool box, new tires etc It was still under $7500. Sold my old Polaris for $4000, the new take off tires for $200 I'm into the new bike for $3300.00.
An ATV is one of those things you really don't want to buy used in my opinion. Just look at what they are used for.
