Hello all,
Has anyone used the buckshot lures through the ice? The you tube videos show that they’re the best of the best but I’m a skeptic.

Thanks in advance.

Had some luck with them in the past for walleye, lakers. Should use them more, but to many hooks in the box so gets dusty.

First things first, every lure you see on youtube will look like the best of the best.

They pay pro's to go out to fool-proof spots and slay with what ever lure they want to sell.

Don't buy into the hype, trust your own instincts. So much of the junk made nowadays is meant to catch fisherman, not fish. If everyone knew how well a plain hook and a split shot worked all the tackle stores would go out of business!!

As a general & simplified rule, lures attract a bite 3 types of ways:
Color/Flash
Vibration
Scent

A buckshot minnow spoon with a small piece of minnow does all 3. The buck shot rattles create a lot of vibration, the erratic action and holographic baitfish image creates flash and the small piece of minnow on the treble hook adds the scent.

Just because it catches fish, doesn't mean its the best of the best of the best. There are days or even weeks or months where the fish are in a negative mood and they don't want that kind of flash and rattle, they want something a lot more subtle.

Are you referring to Northland's buckshot rattle spoons?
