Be nice to have a day off in the week...and the only reason I asked as it seemed to me like you were fishing lots during the middle of week and always talking about your dad....so wanted to know, that's all.

I find if you use a floating rapala 3/16 rainbow or brown trout. Once the current starts taking it and you start reeling in, It will dive down. If it ever gets stuck on me I just let out some line and then reel in and/or change your angle dramatically. I haven't lost a lure yet. The diving lure works great too, but can be tricky to dislodge sometimes.

Not sure how those would do with trout. But if your picking up some lures pick up some of these http://www.panthermartin.com/lures/Spinners/TroutSpinners.aspx and these http://www.rapala.com/products/luresdetail.cfm?modelName=countdown&freshorsalt=Fresh in the trout.

There's lots of places for access between Glenmore and the sanctuary but might be tricker if you don't have a car. I know from biking the bike trail along the Bow that you could hit numerous locations quite easily. Theres acess at Odgen bridge and south of the Calfrobe on the east side http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=51.005843,+-114.017658&vps=1&jsv=159e&sll=49.891235,-97.15369&sspn=43.090146,113.90625&ie=UTF8&geocode=FZNJCgMdhjo0-Q&split=0.

I believe the Sanctuary ends near the train yard north of Odgen bridge. It's a shame you only have Tuesdays off, I don't work Fridays so I go quite often alone as most everyone else works.

I've fished from bird sanctuary all the way down to deerfoot bridge. Not a single bite(this was back in April) but I have to say awesome terrain and I wouldn't be surprised if there is some large fish around that area(my wild guess is thats more of a rainbow trout kind of water, pretty fast flow ). I don't ever see anyone fishing that part of the river.

Too bad, I have Mondays off...

To get distance on spinners attach a couple of split shots and you will get it out much farther. Works like a charm for me.

Hi Baitfisher. If you are chucking spinners and spoons you should try going with the #15 gold or silver panther martins. They are fairly large and heavy and you should be able to get some distance with them. When I fished spinners in the past I had lots of luck with the large PM's.
