Gregoire Lake Pike

I went fishing and caught a few pike in gregoire lake for my first time. I noticed they had worms on their heads, is this normal?

Was it worms or maybe fungus? Did you see that little article on page 83 of the regulations booklet? Did it look like that?

Last Monday and on Saturday my wife and I caught some there too and noticed that. They look something like leaches, or tiny lampreys. Kind of a greyish greenish colour.

Since I've never fished northern Alberta before this year I wondered if they were normal in other lakes too???

they were definatly alive and moving, looked like small earth worms that were attatched to the head then fell off when the fish was out of the water.

most likely small leaches, ive seen them on fish out of pine lake as well as the Red Deer river.
