Athabasca river near Ft. McKay?

I'm up working in Fort Mckay and am wondering if the fishing in the river close to thebridge on Hwy 63 is any good. It would be nice to go out and do a little fishing instead of being stuck in camp.... Thanks for the reply's in advance

Bridge to nowhere is good also the mouth of the mckay river is a good spot

Thanks for the fast response! I seen a few guy's by the bridge on the East side as I went over it, it looked rather shallow there though?

i havent fished there myself but i have always been told very good fishing there

guy just told me tonight actually he got 2 pike over 40" last summer lots of walley in the 3-6# range

Too bad lots of A holes treat it like a local dump. But then again the hole area is receiving that treatment.
