4 of us Southern boys want to experience something that has been on all our bucket lists since we were youngsters-Canadian fishing in a remote location, preferably a fly-in and cabin/lodge/boat operation where we can catch as many species as possible. Thinking about 3 days of fishing, one day guided to show us how it's done and then we might be good self guided after that(?). We are all experienced fisherman, just used to catching speckled trout not lake trout. Any good services to refer us to? Searching randomly on the Internet hasn't really been helpful so far...

Thanks for any help you guys can offer. It is nice to find such an active forum!

Andrew lake lodge is probably your best bet for a fair price and great service. One on lake athabasca would be great for world class lake trout fishing but comes with a hefty price tag but it would be worth the experience .

Pearson Lake Lodge is a really beautiful place.

Fantastic walleye and pike fishing

40 minutes float plane from Fort Mac or quad in.

Namur Lake Lodge is another possibility. I haven't been there for many years so not sure how it is these days. It was good but a little rustic when I was there last.

Island Lake Lodge used to have a nice camp and set up not too far out of McMurray in the Birch mountains

I spent 3 weeks living at their lodge in Island Lake while working in the area in August. The fishing was tremendous for very large pike with a 5 of diamonds. Never more than 5 minutes of trolling between fish. Highly recommend this place. Great people run it.
