Shore or Dock fishing near Edmonton

I'm looking to do some fishing on the weekends but I don't have a boat and wondering where I can go and fish from a shore or dock, preferable within 2hrs from Edmonton, thanks.

Drive one hour west, turn around, drive one hour east, go down to one of the many access points to the river, find a nice hole, throw on a pickerel rig with a worm on the bottom and a minnow on the top, attach a bell to tip of rod, play frisbee with your dog until you hear a bell ringing. Enjoy. You never know what’s on the end of your line.
