Edmonton area trout ponds

I am thinking about fishing trout. Hopefully I can find some good little stocked ponds near by. Can anybody recommend a place or two that I can take the family too without having to travel to far and still have some success. I also could se some tips on what type of lures to try.

What area of the city? There's cardiff just south of morinville, beaumont has a stocked lake... i'm not really sure about anything inside the city tho.

Can't help with lures, sorry, I only flyfish. But some rig out with a bobber and a fly. The beadhead olive wollybugger works well for most stocked lakes.
