Hi...I was wondering if anyone knows if the boat launch is functional at the north end campground of Buck lake. We're thinking of going out there to camp, and have a 16 ft fishing boat to launch. I would hate to go all the way out there from Edmonton and not be able to launch. Thanks in advance for any info.:)

It’s good when I was there last year . You can leave your boat in the water there to as there is a canal

I haven't been out this year but the water seems up almost everywhere.

If you are asking About south buck that is the picture above.
Be warned . There is a large rock driving half way out of the canal,so when heading out stay tight to the left.
Also it gets shallow just as you leave the canal so keep your prop up .
I"ve launched my 19ft many time here .

That's not good, seems that way for most lakes.

That pic looks like the north end of the lake at the Provincial camp ground ?
The sun is in the south east?

Yes sorry. I guess we both need more sleep haha!
I read a post someware on the inter web that the launch was blocked off at some time and could not be used. The last time I camped there was about 8years ago and the last night we were there the alge ploom drifted in to the channel over night and what a smelly mess. It took weeks to get the stains off the boat.

That's sounds just like what happened at Lac la Biche couple summers ago, we were looking for a spot on the Peninsula and could smell this terrible sewage smell, we didn't think there was any sites with sewer hookups... So we followed the smell, it went straight down the water's edge! It was yellow green goop rotting away in the sun! :thinking-006:
