Mid October Fishing for Monsters

Hello!
I was looking for any suggestions for a mid October fishing trip in Alberta. We are looking for some monster pike or lake trout. Open to drive anywhere, fished Cold lake early this year for lakers and loved it.

We just got back from a few days at cold lake. Fishing was fantastic, usually one or two fish every 3-5 minutes. It was hard on dad driving the boat and running the down riggers but the boys managed to crank all the fish in and they didn’t complain. Hard to say what it would be like post spawn.
