View Full Version : Walleye of a Lifetime...
I was lucky enough to hook up with this big girl Wednesday afternoon. Biggest Walleye I've ever seen in my life by a very wide margin.
I'm not very good at uploading pictures and my internet connection is very poor but I'll give it a shot.

Very nice! Just need the name of the lake and bait used to verify the post/pic.

Beautiful fish, congrats!
Lake Diefenbaker, SW Saskatchewan. Crankbait, I think it's a Cotton Cordell.

I only caught one Walleye Wednesday, some big Pike but just the one 'eye.
Great Wally ..... ones that size are few and far between. Did you get a weight?

The Dief and crankbaits, I have heard many a story on big eyes being pulled out of their.

Sad part is we could have had our own Dief, but we voted against the boundary dam. Breaks my heart to think of a fishery that good right outside of Med. Hat. What could have been. :(

Any dimensions?
Any dimensions?
Sadly no...
Pictures is all I have.
Somehow my Scale/tape dissapeared from the boat between the last two outings.
That's the only regret I have about a wonderful experience.
I have a guesstimate in mind and those that were with me.
I'd welcome to hear anyone elses guess.

30 inches - 13 lbs. Nice Fish !
This is only for fun and speculation because I don't have any accurate measurements. But I would swear to it that that fish is significantly more than 30"

Wow what a fish! Nice! I would say easily over 30” as well probably pushing the 36” length unless you have really tiny hands hah. Weight I would have no clue. Is it catch and release in that lake?
No it's not.
In SK, there is a limit of 4 Walleye total, with only 1 allowed to exceed 55 cm.
I swear that fish to be in the 36" range as well.
Weight? I have no idea, I've never caught a Walleye anywhere near that size to know what one would weigh.

I caught one once that was 86cm out of pinehurst and that’s just shy of 34”. Your walleye looks like it’s at least 34”, I never did weigh mine but I was guessing mine was 13-14lb for sure.
Great fish though, hopefully next time you bring a tape, with a walleye that big you should have scribed some marks in your boat and measured it later.

I don't think SHE would appreciate marks scribed into the gelcoat of HER boat.

Well....... sometimes you gotta beg forgiveness rather than ask permission.
This would qualify.

Big fish! Seems to be held out a little far, I'm guessing about 32 inches. 36+ fish are quite rare, and this one doesn't jump out at me as an unusually large, large walleye. Once in a lifetime fish, nonetheless :)
I'll post this picture of a good Pike that I caught in a different location on a different day for comparison.
This fish I do have measurements on.
So I will be curious to see how closely someone might be able to guess the size of this fish.

Ya unless he’s a big guy I’ll say your closer. On second look and 38”
Maybe it would help if I explained that I am around 1/8 of a ton.....
:scared0015:
Talking Moose, you were closer the first time.
