Just curious as to why there seems to be no interest in this.
Thanks

Because the majority expects the minority to fight their battle for them. Basically no gives a krap. Apathy, it's the Canadian way. People would rather be legislated to death in this country than get off their collective azzes and do something about it.

Could you elaborate?

Could you elaborate?

He means if it doesn’t affect them directly, they don’t care. But it’s the short sightedness that will bite them in the arse. After the govt and antis see how easy peezy it was to take away hand guns and semis, the will go after pumps and levers next, they won’t be satisfied until they can get almost all guns banned before the gun owners finally wake up and make a stand.

Well maybe that’s what he meant... maybe not. Lol.

Did this yesterday off of another site.
So easy. Hit print, fill out , fold, tape and throw them in the mail slot. No postage required.
Not sure if it makes a difference, but I signed them, as well as fill in the return address info.

Don’t care. the ones that say they don't care care the most:) especially if one day the powers to be decide to go after bolt action guns and pump action guns I bet they'll care even more but hey what do I know.its the internet :thinking-006:

First they came for the large magazines, and I did not speak out—
Because I didn't have any.

Then they came for the handguns, and I did not speak out—
Because I didn't have any.

Then they came for the semiauto's and I did not speak out—
Because I didn't have any. .

Then they came for my rifles and there was no one left to speak for me.

I'm hoping that many printed and sent them...just didn't see the need to post as there was no actual question in the opening post.
Unfortunately what has been said is too true. I have a number of hunting friends who have not followed what's going on politically because they do have that attitude...can't hunt with a handgun, don't own one, doesn't concern me.

IMHO, Fudds are a big part of our problem.

Good Luck, YMMV.

What's a fudd?

Slang term for a "casual" gun owner; eg; a person who typically only owns guns for hunting or shotgun sports and does not truly believe in the true premise of the second amendment. These people also generally treat owners/users of so called "non sporting" firearms like handguns or semiautomatic rifles with unwarranted scorn or contempt.

"See sonny, all those pistols in that cabinet... all thems is good for is killin people."

Annnnnd, we're off.

Is it a wonder that standing shoulder to shoulder seems impossible for gun owners? As a group, sometimes we dearly lack social skills, grace, or basic civility.

I think the answer to this needs another thread. But basically it is impossible for people to identify with a hobby only a few can practice. Over there past 20 years 2 things happened. 1 more people moved into cities. 2 government continuously shut down ranges due to noise complaints, safety and whatever other bogus reason. Therefore, we now have generations of men and women who grew up without guns and are simply too afraid of them.

Think of it this way, if the government banned ice hockey rinks except in places 100 I'm out of our an centers, then people will eventually stop playing as it becomes to cumbersome to challenging to acquire spots. 20 years later, no one will identify with the sport and eventually they won't care what the government does with it.

It has apparently been noted in Ottawa, that they received 65,000 letters on c71 so far. Even if that only counts as 100 votes per letter, that is still potentially 6.5 million votes. That is a very large block of votes, with many other reasons involved as well. There truly are lots of people in this country who do not own handguns and restricted rifles, who understand what Trudeau is doing, and do not like it, and it is just one more reason not to vote Liberal, and right now, the Libs know it.

There is so much wrong with the statements in this article I don’t know where to begin...I feel bad for the people effected by gun violence. The government always goes for the cheapest solution. It costs too much money to build more prisons and change the laws to include hard labour, daily lashings and no televisions. If the laws were to go capital we would have far less problems and it would be the cheapest solution to this dilemma...a dry sponge and some serious voltage $3.00 a head.

The origin of the handgun statistics used by the ban crowd are always fudged to fool the gullible or disinterested voters. Here's a link to gun.org stats compiled by the university of Sydney AUS, how they get their data is unknown.

https://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/region/canada

The data hasn't been updated in some categories for a few years however some is interesting like accidental deaths and suicides by handguns although they fail to mention if the handguns are legal.

In Canada, annual unintentional shooting deaths by handgun total

2011: 0
2010: 0
2009: 1
2008: 3
2007: 1
2006: 0
2005: 1
2004: 0
2003: 1
2002: 0
2001: 1
2000: 1

I think it's safe to assume that the results of the Liberal's "study on banning handguns and assault rifles" is already predetermined.
