Using a enclosed as a base camp vs travel trailer ?

Hello, I am looking for some input or advice and maybe talk me out of spending more money. For the last little bit I have been thinking about buying a used enclosed trailer to use for a hunting trailer. I would also like to be able to use the trailer to haul 3 long track snowmobiles in the winter for Sled trips.I currently own a 32ft travel trailer which is very nice to use if it is not muddy and the access roads are decent. But I can not imagine tracking it through the mud or down un maintained roads... and I usually winterize it at the start of October. I am wondering if any one else uses a enclosed? I have borrowed a friends enclosed last October for a hunt. We stayed in it as a base camp seemed to work well but it was only a 16ft plus the V nose and It got tight with 3 guys and cots in it. And it was un insulated so the condensation was terrible. The one man door actually froze shut on us and we had to use some force to get out in the morning. I’m wondering if insulation would help this? Would also love to have a mini wood stove in it but I think it would heat it up way to much and be up every few hours adding wood? Just looking for some input. Really don’t like using the travel trailer with the guys seems to get muddy and used hard. I also do a lot of solo trips so don’t want a monster trailer to tow around. I see a lot of guys use the 7ft wide trailer? I figured a 8.5 wide would be the one to buy then you could fit 2 quads side by side and fit a lot more gear?

We use a 7x16 for this. It is insulated on the floor roof and walls. It works really good. I built a stove for my wall tent and we used it on a bison hunt 6 years ago. It was -30 outside and it got warm enough with the stove rippin that you had to open the door. It was a great way to hunt. We used it last year for a family vacation for a couple nights, if you had a decent mattress or cots or something you would be good to go.

I have a 16x7 enclosed trailer.
Wood stove, fridge, three ring stove top, bbq for outside.
Solar powered.
The ultimate man cave on wheels. Lol.
Couldn’t be happier with it.

They can be rigged up to conserve space. One I've seen has fold down beds mounted on the walls. Can have tables mounted that way too. Sink and taps in one corner in the front. Be nice to have a window in it somewhere. Put a roof vent on it, can use a diesel air htr like a Webasto, or electric if you have access to that, wood stove is good , too. Rig up dead bolt locks instead of trailer door locks for the man door. 12v fridges can be done. Can all be set up to be able to get quads and whatever else you want in there.

I have bunks that fold down after the quads are unloaded.
No humidity problems due to the wood stove.
Wood heat dries wet clothing way better than propane, and if you ever get caught in a blizzard, you won't run out of wood.

How do you guys find the 7x16 for
Space? Would fill up quick with gear and 2 guys? How the 7 wide trailers vs 8 or 8.5? Does a guy need to buy a deck over style so there is lots of ground clearance?

Yes I use the stove to cook inside, especially during the winter.
Fridge is propane, taken out of my old tent trailer.

Yup and a smoke detector.

My father inlaw has a tri axle 30 foot enclosed
He put a wall in so side by side and gear in back
Front has a full queen beedxwith storage and a big freezer in front
Rigged up great. Way nicer to tow into the bush than a camper

I may have a 19'x8.5' for sale. Gravity furnace, forced air furnace, outlets, lights, RV plug, insulated, solar panel, 2 new rv batteries, 4 folding bunks, folding shelving, sleeves in back for jacks. outside has hail damage.
I've been thinking about putting it up for sale because i haven't used it for a few years, if it's an easy sell it may make the choice easier. Looking for somewhere around $7000. I can text pictures.

Mine is a 24 foot V Nose. I ordered it insulated walls & roof. If I was to do again I would buy an uninsulated & I would insulate with enerfoil, (R10) for 1.5". The foam insulation in mine is cheap. I would have the underside spray foamed. Can't do mine now because there is rust on the frame. I went with 2 folding beds at back & one in front. Across from the one in the front is a freezer & fridge. I have a 40,000 btu propane furnace. Very loud & poor at drying things out. No room for wood stove. I can provide tons more info if anyone wants to pm me.

Propane isnt the right kind of heat to get away from dampness...

I know some guys who have built a V nose enclosed, fold down bunks, wood heat, gen power to help the RV Batteries if needed. Holds their SxS and quads. Use it for hunting and Ice fishing. V nose holds all the gear, can sleep up there too. Pretty sweet.

Make sure you put anti freeze in the traps if you use air alone. May not burst as there is room for expansion BUT. 10 bucks for anti freeze is cheap.

Free truck cap off Kijiji bolted down to my 5x8 trailer generator and electric space heater keeps it warm to -30 as long as it’s running and the electric heater won’t make you smell like smoke. Also I took the tires off it so it doesn’t grow legs on public lease lands. I wouldn’t want to drag my family’s camper around hunting in the mud or frozen ground.
