Hey men, I am a new poster on this site, and hope that you fellas can help me out with a question. How much belly tainting on coyotes is acceptable before the grader marks the price down? This warm weather is a problem, and even with daily checks of my snare line, some tainting is inevitable. What is a good coyote worth this year? Thanks in advance, and GAWD I hope it gets cold and snows.

Like you said, some tainting is inevitable. Any snared coyote will show signs of taint, irregardless if it's frozen solid. Nothing that dies, and still has it's intestines left in, can freeze fast enough to avoid it. Price would be affected if the fur slips is about it.

As aka bushmaster stated, most go a little bad but it usually doesn't have much of an affect on the hide. I've done coyotes where the belly has actually turned green and still got a decent price. The smell isn't all that great but then again how many coyotes smell great to begin with?
