Caught a skunk in my coyote snares, first time, and he sprayed, am I still good to go ? Or should I move the bait

It should help if anything in my experience I’ve caught coyotes useing skunk essence when I’ve tried. But I’m no pro at trapping coyotes will have to wait for some of the big boys to chime in.

Skunk essence is my go to scent to lure coyotes to a bait site from long range. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. Put a good shot of skunk essence at my bait sites last week, and ended up catching 23 coyotes on 4 sites in 6 days.

Beauty. That's good news. I removed the skunk from the bait site but hopefully the stink will be enough, or should I have left him?

I totally agree with the others. Best thing that could have happened.

You now have a looooooooooooong range call scent. And one powerful enough to mask any odor you might leave.

Leave the skunk don't bait. The hide and bones will be left and continue to smell a bit. I bait sites with skunk carcasses. Great bait.
