I was wondering can you use a 220 conibear trap for beaver or is that a little to small?
Thanks :)

I guess if the beaver was only 30 pounds it may work fine, but if you get a big guy the opening of a 220 might be too small. He would probably set it off but it may not contact far enough behind the skull.

220's are recommended for racoon size animals. Stick with the 330 and you won't have to worry about lost traps or improper kills.

I have only done a little trapping so i could be totally off track but I am pretty sure the 330 is the prefered trap for more than just looks. You can probably get away with it, but why try it if you are unsure. Better to over-kill than under-kill

Check your trapping regulations. According to the Agreement on International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS) all traps listed as legal to trap beaver are 330's. 220's can NOT be used!
