Has anyone been out to the north side of Gull Lake in the past few days? Was wondering if it might be safe to drive on by Boxing Day with all this cold weather we are getting.

Appreciate any feedback!

Can't comment on the North end but walked out from Brownlows and bored through 7 to 8 inches, some guys were driving out. Be safe out there on Boxing day.

Thanks for the reply David. That’s a little thin for my liking so I will likely walk out to be safe.

Best I could find out by the rental shacks at Brownlows today was 10 inches total ice with only 8 of that being good clear ice with 2 inches of white ice in top. Still quite a few people driving half tons on though.... either a lot braver or a lot dumber than me.

Up by meridian it was ten inch at the best and the top 2 are white like it melted and froze again. I had my snowmobile and another fella used his aswell. A quad would actually be better due to the bare patches that tend to make a snowmobile spin while pulling a load snd its rough as hell. There was a group that drove along the shore in a Ford halfton. Fishing was brutal yesterday. Not even much on the camera along that east side.

About 12" to 14" yesterday at the Southwest end off Range Road 10 at about 300 yards offshore. Lots of little perch on the cam, a few small pike. Caught one small pike.

Was out east of Brownlows and there was 10 inches of ice in some spots and 14 in others. Saw one guy who had a 27 foot 5th wheel camper trailer out on the ice !! :thinking-006:

At Sandy Point today, flood water in areas and only 9" to 11". Fished from 11-22 FOW. Glad I decided to park near shore and walk out as that isn't enough ice to drive on with a half ton for this cowboy!! Mostly guys with ATV's in that area however there were some trucks.
