TRAPPING PIGEONS

[TRAPPING PIGEONS]

I have heard of persons who train retreiver dogs that they often trap pigeons at night with a flashlight and fishnet. Is this legal in Alberta? Isn't it kind of like poaching? Or do the rules not apply because they aren't considered "game"?

All birds are protected except the following: Starlings, Crows, Pigeons,......

Catching birds in a fishnet at night, I wouldn't put into the definition of trapping. Sounds like it might be kind of fun though.
