I usually do very well in either 4-10' of water or 25'+ depends on time of year and the lake.
Use wireworms sitting horizontally you can either deadstick them with a jaw jacker or move them up and down the water column twitching them constantly mimicing the movement of a shrimp both ways work great. Try brass, coppers, yellows and candy cane colors
Spoons like slender spoons, kastmasters and wetaskiwin specials all work sometimes as well especially november to january while they are spawning.
