Edmonton air cadets suggestions

My son wants to join air cadets but doesn't know which squadron to go to. We live on the south side of Edmonton. Any suggestions or anything we should know?

I did a google search , came up with 3 Edmonton Air Cadet squadrons with websites,

I don't know the history or the present status of any of the air cadet sqns in Edmonton. Apparently there are five of them (http://app.cadets.gc.ca/directory-repertoirev2/en/cadet-directory.html)...………….closest in the South appears to be

I would go with 395, they are associated with 417 (CS) Sqn in Cold Lake.

That's how I got my start with the military back in the 50's. 52 Calgary Squadron, retired from the RCAF/CAF reg force in 1987.

Maybe this is out of reach for you but I was in 831 Leduc. We did some pretty awesome stuff for being a no cost program. Toured the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, the Boeing 747/767 plant in Washington, flew in hercs,gliders,Huey’s,otters and smaller light aircraft, Montana air national guard f16’s and ea6b prowlers. Dam I wish I could do that again or at least put the boy into it.

504 Squadron has Glider training at Villenuve Airport on weekends in summer. Can get their ground school and private licence if they are committed.
