Winefred wilderness tent camp price increase $$$

Just got the info that winefred lake lodge increased the price at the wilderness camp from $100/night to $325/night. Boat rental is now included. I was told that even if you bring your own boat, the price will still be $325/night. They want to generate more revenue by catering to people who rent boats.

Wish I would’ve known this last year. Would’ve booked more time at Paul’s. Same price for 4 people at Paul’s and way better value. Already got a few days booked at Paul’s but probably to late now to try and book to accommodate my boys trip for 10 guys in June.

Anyone got a recommendation for somewhere in Saskatchewan that’s drive to rustic accommodations that’s under $200/night with your own boat.

I’m not paying $325/night to stay in a plywood shack with no amenities that’s boat in and out with my own boat at the newly priced wilderness camp.

Not per person. $325 per night for up to 4 guys. Doesn’t sound like all that much unless you’ve actually seen the camp.

pretty crazy isn't it, I got their email too and puked in my mouth nothing wrong with the price to rent the boat but to force people to rent or pay the same with their own is ridiculous. Especially on those bad weather days I know I was glad to have our own boat last year... I'm sure they have now lost some business I know Paul will get ours in the future....

One option would be Kamkota on Pinehouse Lake. I’m not sure what his per night rate is these days but we used to launch there quite a bit. Cabins seemed decent. Campsites available but pretty open.

check out Keely lake. Its north of Meadow Lake.
good fishing, nice cabins and a great protected area to beach your boat.
rentals not required. better walley lake than huge pike but lots to catch. Perch in the weeds as well.

You already have to bring your own food, bedding, towels etc. Why not just bring a tent and Coleman stove, and just set up camp. Well worth it to save the cost given it is a really rustic camp anyhow. I too would never pay that kind of money for a plywood shack.
