Interesting concept. I am excited about the future of vehicles and how it will all shake out. Interesting times indeed.

Weird, your auto correct changed ugly to interesting.

Wonder how it connected those two words....

I couldn't find the price

500 miles with 15 min charge time soon to be 5 min. would be a game changer if anybody except the uber rich can afford the purchase price

Thanks for sending this. It’d be so quiet and have almost 100% torque right off the line. Be an interesting fire if the battery went (assuming it’s LiPo).

I found this in there, not sure what you would get for that.
Direct Purchase

10-year, 100% warranty

Pay-as-you-go charging

Must carry personal insurance

Starting $45,000

The 35,000 lb GCWR surprised me a bit. I have a trailer that weighs 25,000 lb. I would be interested to see how an electric truck pulls it.

Like pulling with a locomotive? LOL

They should do something about the aesthetics, but that wouldn't necessarily prevent me from driving it. I would be more worried about the distance between their charging stations (note that 15-min charge is only at those) and battery life in cold and/or while towing. Presumably heating the cab will also draw battery power, as there is no engine to take heat from.

Looks like they aren't planning on selling outside of the U.S. in the immediate future, anyway.

The front ‘trunk’ is neat, one could keep all manner of tools there and still have an empty bed for cargo.

As for generating heat in winter, I could see that seriously reducing range when it’s very cold out. I’d like to see a hybrid with a small engine whether it’s nat gas, propane, diesel or gasoline for charging and supplemental heat. Or does one just put 2 or 3 Honda generators in the front trunk with their exhaust piped out? :sHa_sarcasticlol:

As of August of 2018 they haven’t even built a prototype.
So there specs will have to be proven.
A battery of real world tests will need to be done.
How many changes will they have to endure.
#1 it’s not legal to drive a vehicle on the hiway with out physical mirrors.
If the first production Atlis truck makes it to a customer by 2026 I’ll be very surprised and that s if they don’t go bankrupt first.

I think it’s a great concept and would gladly trade my truck for one.

People laughed at Henry Ford too.
