Has anyone had good success fishing Sawn lake NW of Red Earth in the winter time? Tried 2 times now with no success. Tried 15 feet and 20 feet of water.

I was there a couple of weeks ago. we fished in several places at a variety of depths. We caught seven or eight pike altogether. Nothing of any size.

Used to love that lake when I lived up there. Was tough in the winter. Summer was awesome 20 years ago. Fish of many age classes.

How’s joker doing? Haven’t been there in 20 years too. Was a great perch lake.

Thanks gentlemen. I will give it another go as working up in the area. Big lake with some really deep spots.

Always had good luck directly on the other side of the island.

I heard it winter killed some dozen plus years ago. I always wondered if it bounced back. Caught my first perch there. First 100 or so really. Most were eaters

Coincidentally, that is where someone had been fishing when I was there, and had caught quite a few smaller pike. There were probably a dozen carcasses on the ice.

We caught fish quite close to where you drive on the lake. We just went a few hundred yards to the right and set up there.

Watch for overflow near the island.
