I’d like to take my new son in law on a sturgeon fishing trip. Can anyone suggest a good outfit to go with here in Alberta? Thanks very much, have a great weekend.

Trust me, go the extra distance and book a trip on the Fraser in BC. You won't regret it.

Agreed, a big lake sturgeon is 5'. Those were the smallest white sturgeon we got into!

Just looking to do a day trip, nothing exotic.

I am with the go to BC crowd. Sturgeon fishing in BC is far more worthwhile imo.

If set on AB there are limited guides and easy to find on google. I won't give names as I haven't used them. You will have far better luck on the SSR then NSR.

If your in the south, Fishing Freaks, out of Taber will get you in them. He fishes on the South Sask. River. You might have seen him on the Fishing the Wild West show.

We fished with Brent out of Medicine Hat last Sept. Caught a dozen weighing between 12 and 37 lbs. Caught a few walleye too. Good trip for beginners and not too expensive. Can get bigger ones. Southsaskatchewanstusrgeon. BEL
