Can you apply for an antlerless moose in a specific zone then 999 an antlered moose?? I am guessing not but would like confirmation. Thanks

Sure wish you could. Like with the Antelope draws you can apply for all three types but only hold one. You build priority in all you apply for each year.
I have often thought to put in for calf moose in Wainwright or elsewhere. But I would have to leave out my Antlered moose draw then. "Bugga"

Do you think that this will ever change? Why not moose and elk apply for both but can only hold one tag..

I don't know the answer to that one.
As long as the number of special licences is governed by science and conservation of the animals, then the wildlife managers should not care who is harvesting the game.
So it is a question as to is it "fair" to the hunters applying for permits.
If I cannot apply for both antlered and calf moose, then I have to choose one or the other. So the number of applicants will be less in one or the other of those draws. That makes the odds of any other hunter being drawn better.
In other words if a hunter just applies for calf moose in Wainwright every year, he would want me to stay in the Antlered moose pool and not add my name to his pool.
I reckon there must be bow hunters who like to hunt pronghorn with a bow and apply for that licence every year. They may wish that I would have to choose which pronghorn permit to apply for and not take an opportunity from them.
