2019 bows

Shot the Mathews Traverse and the Bowtech Realm SS both very nice shooting bows didn’t even feel like 70lbs on either one lost intrest in the Hoyt when I seen the price is there any other 2019 bows this smooth to shoot ??

I tested lots the vertix, helix, rx3, prime, elite, bowtech walked home with helix very fast dead in hand and shoots great. Accurate archery was amazing as always

I've been looking at the Triax, Traverse and Vertix mostly because
I'm moving up from a DXT.

Difference in the bows to me seems to be brace height and ATA length.

Both length in brace height and ATA will greatly effect the draw curve and
will make a difference in the feel of the shot release and aftershock.

I know that a lesser brace height will result in greater hand torque response.
I know that a lesser ATA length will increase the result of the the above.

So I'm kind of leaning to trying a trying out a Triax over the Traverse or the
Vertix simply becuase of the greater BH mostly.

I expect the draw cycle to be harsh compared to my DXT but I think in the
letoff and release the the Triax will be solid and on target after the shot.
And close enough to switch from the DXT to the Triax over the summer.

I'd like to compare other bows like bowtec and hoyt and pse etc. but I live
in VA an the only shops within 100 miles (2) only sell hoyts and mathews.
So that's what I've got.

So I'm leanin' to a Triax my self.

Not a bad a idea..... but you might be surprised with the Mathews Vertix and how impressed the Jimbows staff is with that bow.

I was disappointed in the Mathews line and how spongy the back wall is.
As well, I'm not a fan of their wide grips, I like a narrower grip.
My draw is 29.5" so these super short ATA bows like the Triax give me a vary harsh string angle. The peep was almost right up and in the serving of the string.
Not to mention how amplified the torque is on the super short ATA

The Vertix and Traverse seem to be better than the Triax.

I ended up buying a Bowtech REALM. The one thing I really like is how easy they are to tune.

These things are all personal preference, you really have to shoot the bows and see how they feel to you.

I shot the Travese as well. Super smooth but wasn't a fan of the grip. I thought the wall was solid. The rest of the Mathews bows are too short ATA.

I am leaning towards the PSE Evoke 35. Rock solid wall, super smooth and awesome grip. From what i have read super easy to tune.

I skip past the Hoyts and APA due to the price tag.

I bought the 2018 REALM, it is an unreal bow. I have shot the SR6 and did like it. The big thing is, make sure you shoot them on comfort mode. I think if I was to walk out and buy a bow right now that it would either be the REALM or the REALM SS.

I must say, that I also really like what Prime was offering. The only reason I went with the REALM was it felt just as good as the Prime but had a little more speed.

I'm hearing the new CT series from Prime is AMAZING. I have not shot them though

Interesting thread. Lots of love for the Bow techs. Last season I was ready to upgrade my beginner bow after having it for a year. I tried quite a few bows and had my mind set on an APA but then I shot the Bowtech Realm. It was better in almost every way. I bought it and I’m very pleased. I also got 2 bucks with it my first season, so it must be lucky too 🤔

There are a lot of nice bows out there this year. I have shot many, and some are impressive, while others not so much. There have been a lot of changes to the draw cycles and feel of many brands this year. They all have their pros and cons. The new Hoyt Helix is a very nice bow imo. Hoyt did a great job on it this year. The RX3 very nice too. I ended up ordering an RX3 Turbo, but I think I might need to have a Helix as well....😉

Anyone have any input on the PSE carbon air's? Would like to try one of those.

I shot the air 35, evoke 35 and Xpedite. The carbon bows are the same as the rest of the pse line with the evolve cams. Super smooth. Dead in the hand. Aims really solid. Only draw back if you are used to thin grip is the wider grip on the carbon line.

The evoke 35 was unreal but the big surprise was the Xpedite. I wasn’t going to shoot it as I thought it would be like most speed bows and have a harsh draw cycle. I was pleasantly surprised. It may be the one I add to the stable. Shooting a few of the Bowtechs, Mathews and elite I will be buying a PSE.

I’ll be honest and say I have shot PSE for a number of years. I have owned all of the major lines and am not partial to 1 brand over another. I had my mine set on shooting a few brands and going with what felt best at my draw and preferred poundage.
