Hello, and how are all you fine anglers today.

I'd like to introduce myself, new to Alberta's fishing scene and am very open to some on advice on catching walleye.
I am originally from thousand lakes in Ontario (I know, crappy politics, great fishing) So I have a good bit of experience with small and largemouth bass, catfish. Pike and the ever growing population of bluegills.

I have zero experience with walleye, never fished for one, nor caught. Hoping to put the rumours of deliciousness to truth this season.

Tommorow Saturday May 18,2019 I am bringing my 2 teen nieces out to the lake to try some shore fishing. I have gotten a B class tag as I wasnt sure if trophy sized fish were catchable from shore and even if they were, I would be sending them back to breed future generations.

I have browsed as many old forums as I can on the subject of pigeon lake and I am think the south shore pier at the provincial park is the recommended place. That advice was a few years old so a little more direction would be nice.

To me it's important that the girls actually get some fish on the line to really peak that interest in fishing that they seem to have gotten. So any recommendations on where we could go, and the good ideas on fit ups for shore would be great (currently thinking jig and frozen minnow. With a bobber. Or a floating jig.)

Thank you for any advice and have a great season.

Welcome to the forum.

Send me a PM at your leisure and I will give you a call and steer you in
the right direction.

Great forum to join btw ... just ignore some of the "opinionated" folks
if they get a bit much lol.

Tight lines.
