Well -NDN- was nice enough to take me out to his fishing holes around Fort Sask for some walleye in the river. I got set up before him, even before he got fully set up I had 2 walleye landed, both around the same size. Then nothing, except the odd one on. He landed 3 walleye, 2 were nice, including one good one around 3 or 4 pounds. He also landed a small pike. We both had lots hooked that got off. It was great to get out, here are a couple pics...one of the pics of my walleye never turned out, got home and it said corrupted data on my display???? So no pic of my first walleye of the year:( But heres a couple, -NDN- will post up some of his soon.

Me with my second, a bit smaller than my first walleye

Just some goofing around, him doing the big Bowcrow pose with his new net in my driveway LOL

By the way, mosquitoes were PITIFUL...several dozen buzzing around our head every second, even when it was raining. And the mud was bad too cus of the rain, both of us fell at different times and got all muddy, lol

Yep for sure, was a great time. Brings back memories of me as a kid fishing in my home town on the mighty NSR.

this is the first year that ~Octane~ and I have ever Open water fished together, as it seems the only time we go fishing was winter.

SO......... yeah, walleye bite was on for sure, a bit slow, but thats the norm for this time, would have picked up some more im sure on a Lindy Rig with special bait, but i was having enough fun with 1/4 oz jig heads tipped with a rubber tail jig worked on the bottom. Misquitos were very bad but bug spray helped. Just notice them in the picture of the Pike, i think the pike pic is blurry due to the camera maybe focusing on the misquitos????

Managed 3 walleye myself, and a small pike, about 3 or 4 more takers but missed the hookset. Fouynd the walleyes are back up to thier old tricks again and fighting harder than they should be for thier size. My largest of the night i swear was about 8 pounds until i seen it in the net:lol:

~Octane~ caught his first ever open water walleye. Glad to be there. To bad about the pic on his camera, as it messed up and didnt allow viewing of it. A shame as it had really nice colors

Looking forward to the rest of the season on the NSR, its only begun, and with gas prices the way they are, ill be visiting "Home" alot this year.

Some pics, hope you enjoy, some are crappy as i left the camera on the wrong setting:sick:

I dont know why my first pic in the first post wont work? I edited something and it just stopped working? Perhaps its a bug in the system someone can fix.

Genetic engineering isn't just for scientists in ivory towers or corporate R&D labs anymore. Researchers are still creating new mice and crops every week, but the tools and knowledge necessary to create organisms never before seen on Earth have pushed out to pet breeders, artists and college kids. A University of Alberta team placed second. Genetic engineering is getting so easy, even a kid can do it. A team of students from the University of Alberta, "the Butanerds," competed in the International Genetically Engineered Machines competition, creating an E. coli strain that produces butanol fuel (albeit rather inefficiently). The Butanerds have competition from a host of well-funded startups, like Synthetic Genomics and LS9, which are trying to genetically modify single-celled organisms to create the fuels of the future.
